At a meeting on October 4, the administrative board of the Farmers’ Power Association approved a package of 30 legislative and regulatory measures to support farmers in the current crisis situation, Logos Press reported.

The elections are over, passions have calmed down a bit. Next came the “technical” procedures for approving mandates and forming parliamentary governing bodies.

Political scientist Corneliu Ciurea believes that the current parliament faces a choice: either preserving and strengthening the PAS majority or early elections, Logos Press reported.

According to preliminary data presented by the Central Electoral Commission, the Action and Solidarity Party (PAS) won 50.16% of the votes in the parliamentary elections,” Logos Press reported.

The ruling Action and Solidarity (PAS) party is winning the Sept. 28 elections and is well positioned to form a parliamentary majority and appoint a one-party government, Logos Press reported.

In Moldova’s ongoing parliamentary elections, political leaders have already cast their votes, making statements reflecting deep political divisions, hopes for change and calls for civic engagement, Logos Press reports.

During the work of the 11th Parliament, 172 plenary sessions were held, 1,589 normative acts were adopted, 259 international agreements were ratified and 26 treaties were denounced, Logos Press reports.

At the end of the XIth Parliament, 180 legislative initiatives, most of them belonging to the opposition, are still pending,” Logos Press reported.

On Sunday, August 17, the parliament will meet in a special session to swear in the newly appointed members of the Constitutional Court, Logos Press reported.

The XIth Parliament held 172 plenary sessions with a total duration of almost 1,100 hours. In the last convocation, they were organized twice less – 81 sessions, taking into account the fact that the Parliament was dissolved ahead of schedule two years after its election.

The spring-summer session of the Parliament has ended today. Since the beginning of this year, 24 plenary sittings with a total duration of almost 160 hours were held. The MPs adopted 260 normative acts, including 30 aimed at harmonizing the Moldovan legislation with the European one.
