Annual inflation in Moldova amounted to 6.8% and is almost within the acceptable range of volatility for developing economies, continuously decreasing since June 2025, Logos Press reported.

According to the National Bureau of Statistics, wholesale and retail trade enterprises accounted for the largest share of the total number of active enterprises in 2023, accounting for 39.0% of the total number of active enterprises, Logos Press reported.

There are 81 companies with Chinese capital operating in Moldova, and in terms of invested capital China ranks 51st among the main investors in our country.

The annual inflation rate stabilized for the second consecutive month at 7%: average food prices did not add to inflationary pressures by the end of the year, Logos Press reported.

About 40% of the vacancies registered in the economy are waiting for applicants in the spheres of public administration and defense, institutions of compulsory social insurance – about 14% of the staff schedule, – reports Logos Press.

The National Bureau of Statistics (NBS) canceled the timely dissemination of GDP and labor market data for the second quarter of 2025, explaining the postponement of the publication date by “technical reasons”. The expert community did not believe and was indignant at the restriction of access to important information on the eve of parliamentary elections.

Over the first seven months of 2025, industrial production growth of 2.2% year-on-year is recorded, Logos Press reports.

The area sown with cereals and leguminous crops for the harvest-2025 in Moldova decreased by 2.5% compared to the last year’s indicator, while the area sown with industrial crops increased by 8.5%, – reports Logos Press with reference to the press release of the National Bureau of Statistics.

Average consumer prices in May increased by 7.9% year-on-year, including food products – by 9.7%, non-food products – by 1.8%, services to the population – by 14.5%, – reports Logos Press.
