The Association of Grain Exporters Agrocereale calls on the management of the State Enterprise “Railway of Moldova” to provide information on the volume of transportation of grain and oilseed crops in the period September-November, as well as on the number of confirmed requests for transportation of these cargoes in December 2025, – reports Logos Press.

A 25 km long section of the railroad on the Iasi Ungheni line, including a bridge over the Prut River, will be modernized and electrified with European financial support. The total cost of the project will amount to 33.8 million euros.

In June 2025, the project to rehabilitate the 233-kilometer-long Bender-Causeni-Basarabeasca-Etulia-Giurgiulesti railroad section was to be completed. This is the most important and largest track repair project in the history of independent Moldova. However, back in August 2024, the works were extended until 2027 – due to the increased volume. Some sections of the road turned out to be in much poorer condition than thought and needed major repairs.

Repair work began in order to restore train traffic on the railroad bridge over the Prut River near the settlements of Falciu (Romania) – Cantemir (Moldova).
