The goal of increasing the size of the National Army from 6,500 to 8,500 troops will be difficult to achieve without a transition to a professional army on a contract basis, Logos Press reported.

The Military Strategy for the period 2025-2035, approved at a government meeting on October 8, envisages an increase in funding for the Armed Forces to 1 percent of GDP by 2034, Logos Press reported.
