The authorities intend to expand the number of medical institutions authorized as centers for the harvesting and transplantation of human organs and tissues outside the Chisinau municipality, Logos Press reported.

The total income of the Compulsory Health Insurance Funds (CHIF) for 2026 will amount to over 18 billion 832 million lei, while the volume of expenses will be over 19 billion 217 million lei, with a deficit of 385 million lei. Revenues are growing by 8.3%, while expenditures are growing by 10.5%. The cost of the medical policy (fixed amount of 12636 lei) and the percentage of contributions (9%) will remain the same.

The Ministry of Health announced the launch of the national program “Heart Transplantation in the Republic of Moldova”, which is a strategic step towards the development of cardiology and cardiac surgery, – reports Logos Press.

Moldova is becoming a new regional center of medical tourism, providing medical services at prices up to 70% lower than in Romania and Western Europe. This was reported by Ziarul Financiar, noting that the country attracts thousands of patients from the European Union, including Romanians.

Revenues of the Funds of Compulsory Health Insurance for 10 months of 2025 exceeded 11 bln. 2025 exceeded 11 billion lei and increased by 683 million lei – plus 6.5% compared to the same period of 2024.

A memorandum on the creation of a HealthTech Hub at the State University of Medicine and Pharmacy, which will become a national platform for innovations in healthcare, has been signed in Moldova, Logos Press reports.
