Ukraine is taking an average of 40 million cubic meters of gas per day from its underground gas storage facilities (UGS), which is 18 million m3 less than the average daily withdrawal in the corresponding period over the past three years, Logos Press reported.

The cold weather and snowfalls in Europe are forcing traders to more actively extract gas from underground storage facilities – since the beginning of the heating season more than 30 billion cubic meters have already been pumped out of UGS, according to Logos Press.

Russian pipeline gas deliveries to Europe via the only available route, Turkish Stream, are 6.92% higher than the same period last year since the beginning of 2025, Logos Press reported.

Gas quotations on the morning of July 25 on European exchanges fell to a three-month low of less than 32 euros/MWh or $400 per 1,000 cubic meters,” Logos Press reported.

Moldova has expressed interest in using Ukraine’s underground gas storage facilities to create its own gas reserves. This was reported by the Moldovan Energy Ministry following talks between Minister Dorin Jungietu and his Ukrainian counterpart German Galushchenko, which took place in Kiev.
