Exports to the USA

The Chisinau-based bakery Franzeluta, which has long established exports to the United States, has not felt the decrease in supplies to the American market. This was reported to Logos Press by the company’s general director Andrei Beşliu, who noted that in 2024 the export volumes to the US market reached $1.5 million.

On August 1, 25% duties on all goods imported to the United States from Moldova came into force. This follows from the materials published by the White House. The duties came into force despite the fact that the Moldovan authorities sought a postponement of their introduction and reduction.

U.S. President Donald Trump wrote in his Truth Social account on the evening of April 9 that he is raising customs duties on goods from China to 125% and reducing duties on goods from other countries to 10% for 90 days,” Logos Press reported.

In terms of Moldovan bottled wines supplied abroad, the USA took the first place in the top 10 export countries last year, – Logos Press reports. In particular, the share of the USA in the top ten foreign markets for our bottled wines in physical terms is 33.9%, and in value terms – 33.4%.
