In the period from January to April this year, the physical export of Moldovan honey increased by 40% compared to the same period last year – up to 1.8 thousand tons. In financial terms, shipments abroad are estimated at $4.7 million, with an average invoice price of about $2.6/kg. Employees of industry associations of beekeepers and honey exporters believe that the active export of honey from the Republic of Moldova will continue, due to large stocks of products from previous years.

In the 2024-25 marketing season, Moldova became the third largest exporter of wheat to the EU market with a share of 8.1% and a volume of 603.8 thousand tons.

Last month, the foreign trade turnover of sunflower oil in Moldova reached 1.65 thousand tons, worth 40.14 million lei, Logos Press reported.

In the recently completed marketing season (July 2024 – June 2025), the Republic of Moldova exported almost 118 thousand tons of barley to the European Union, – reports Logos Press with reference to Eurostat.

Export of goods from Moldova decreased by 11.3% year-on-year in the period from January to April and amounted to $1077.1 million. At the same time, import of foreign goods increased by 16.2% and reached $3407.9 million. Accordingly, the trade balance deficit increased by 35.7% compared to the same period last year and amounted to $2330.8 million.
