The extended quotas for Moldovan fruit supplies to the European Union, approved within the process of modification of the Deep and Comprehensive Free Trade Agreement DCFTA, are due to open on October 4 this year, Logos Press reports.

Wholesale prices for current year honey increased by about 10-15% in September compared to summer levels, according to Logos Press.

The information channels of the European Commission, followed by a few Moldovan mass media, reported that at the beginning of the second decade of September, Moldovan exporters fully utilized the then valid annual quota for duty-free supplies of plums to the EU market. By a “happy coincidence” (or maybe due to it), the closure of the export euro quota coincided with the seasonal decline in prices and a drop in external sales of plums.

In July 2025, $347 million worth of goods were exported, a 30.3 percent increase from June 2025 and a 21.8 percent increase from July 2024.

In July-August 2025, compared to the same period last year, the average price of corn exported from Moldova increased from 3.99 to 4.04 lei/kg. A slight increase in the average price was due to a change in the product mix, Logos Press reported.

In the first 8 months of 2025, the share of tax on income from entrepreneurial activity decreased to 46.8%, which indicates the increasing dependence of the Moldovan economy on imports of foreign goods, Logos Press reported.
