In June this year, Moldovan cherry exporters earned $20 million against $13 million in the same month of 2024, Logos Press reported citing data from Moldova Fruct.

In Moldova, harvesting of medium-late cherry varieties – Lapins, Big Star, Kordia, Large-fruited cherries has started. At the same time, more or less systematic export of these fruits started. The volumes are not large yet – within a hundred tons. At the same time, a part of cherries, conditionally – “export quality”, for a number of reasons is still settled on the domestic market.

The quality of medium-late varieties of cherries is above average in the masses, due to which exports have intensified, which contributes to the stagnation of prices for this commodity at a relatively high level, – reports Logos Press.
