Moldova and Ukraine advocate the speedy implementation of the Ungheni-Chisinau-Odessa expressway project and the construction of the Cosauti-Iampol bridge.

Plans for the construction of the Iasi-Ungheni-Chisinau-Odessa highway, which had been frozen for an indefinite period, are back on the agenda of the relevant authorities in Chisinau. It is also expected to play the role of a new tourist route connecting the three countries. The length of the highway will be more than 320 kilometers, and the construction will cost 1.2 billion euros. The future of this project, among others, was discussed during a meeting with an official Romanian delegation at the Moldovan Ministry of Infrastructure and Regional Development.

Ukraine and Moldova are looking for financing options for the construction of the Iampol-Cosauti bridge, which is estimated to cost 3.4 billion hryvnia (1.39 billion lei), Logos Press reported.

Romania’s Transport Ministry has approved a project to build a new bridge between Moldova and Romania in Albica at a cost of 260 million Romanian lei (1 billion MDL), Logos Press reported.
