The Information and Security Service (ISS), police and customs have merged to control passengers at the border under the new headquarters of the Passenger Information Unit of the Inspectorate General of Border Police, Logos Press reports.

Moldova is launching the National Program for Integrated State Border Management for 2026-2030, aimed at improving the security and efficiency of crossing the state border, Logos Press reports.

Former ambassador and former MP Igor Munteanu, a consultant at the New Strategy Center, a Romanian think tank specializing in foreign policy, defense and security, told Logos Press that the case of arms smuggling through Albica is only the tip of the iceberg.
