The government has approved amendments to the decree on a “single window” for issuing permits for construction work. The document provides for the harmonization of terminology and the procedure for issuing permits in the construction sector, as well as simplification and increased transparency of the process of issuing permits for construction works. In addition, the deadline for the integration of local governments into the Automated Information System for the management and issuance of permits was extended until January 1, 2027.

Moldova continues to modify the regulatory framework in the construction sector, which is brought in line with the provisions of the Urban Development Code. The Government drafted a decision that amends the Regulation on the creation and functioning of a single window for issuing permits for construction works.

For the first time since the legislation was amended, fines have been issued for failure to use permits to connect power plants with an installed capacity of more than 200 kW to the electricity grid that were issued or extended until March 27, 2025, but not used by the expiration date, Logos Press reported.

In the construction sector of Moldova, the tendency to reduce the number of objects under construction continues. This is evidenced by statistical data on the number of issued permits.

Moldova and Poland have agreed to increase by about 65% the quotas of permits for road transport with third countries. This was reported by the Ministry of Infrastructure and Regional Development, noting that this important result for Moldovan operators was achieved following a meeting of the joint Moldovan-Polish committee on international road transport, which was held in Warsaw on July 21-23 after a 17-year break.

The tendency to reduce the number of issued building permits continues in Moldova. And both at the country level and at the level of Chisinau,” reports Logos Press.
