Bisons fans were penalized with a minus sign in the 7th round of the second stage of the Super League (1:1) and the first match of the 1/2 finals of the Moldovan Cup (1:2). The Moldovan Football Federation (FMF) fined Zimbru and issued a strict warning to the fans
During both matches against Sheriff, the fans of the capital club actively used profanity in their shouts and used pyrotechnics in the fan sector, damaging the natural turf pitch. The Disciplinary Commission of the FMF decided to fine the Chisinau club 120 thousand lei. The club is also obliged to fix the physical damage to the pitch.
In case of repetition of such incidents, Zimbru fans risk being banned from attending matches involving the supported team. Moreover, FMF may take extreme measures and leave the Bisons with empty stands in home matches.
A week earlier, Logos Press reported that the Disciplinary Commission of the FMF fined Zimbru 95 thousand lei for the aggressive behavior of fans, players and staff of the club in Orhei, where the match with local Milsami (0:2) took place in the 6th round of the 2nd stage of the Super League. The total amount of losses of the club budget of “Zimbru” due to the actions of fans and the events caused by them, only for two weeks amounted to 215 thousand lei.
Two rounds before the end of the championship “Zimbru” with 14 points occupies the third place in the Super League standings, “Sheriff” (16 points) is on the second line. The clubs are also fighting for a ticket to the final of the Cup of Moldova. In the first match of the 1/2 finals “Sheriff” won with the score 2:1, the return meeting will be held on May 14 in Tiraspol.
