According to the Moldovan Ministry of Internal Affairs, the amendments set out the procedures for inter-agency cooperation, information sharing and the mobilisation of civil defence forces. The document also establishes requirements for the training and certification of specialists working in this field.

Particular attention will be paid to prevention. State institutions, local authorities and the public will be provided with clearer guidelines for identifying potential risks and preparing for various emergency scenarios.

The authorities expect that the new regulations will help to organise assistance more quickly during crises and natural disasters. The main objective is to protect people’s lives and health and to minimise potential damage.
