The forum focused on cooperation between state bodies and civil society organisations within the framework of European integration. Participants discussed reforms in the areas of security, the rule of law and civil society’s participation in public decision-making.

According to the ministry, the event was organised jointly with the Institute for European Policy and Reforms (IPRE) and the International Organisation for Migration (IOM).

Participants reviewed the progress made on Chapter 24, ‘Justice, Freedom and Security’, as well as the role of civil society organisations in monitoring reforms and the work of the relevant working group.

A separate discussion was devoted to public consultation mechanisms. Representatives of civil society and government bodies discussed how to make the dialogue more effective, involve civil society organisations more actively in the drafting of legislation, and take their proposals into account when making decisions.

Following the forum, participants emphasised the need for ongoing and transparent interaction between the authorities and civil society. The organisers noted that such cooperation should contribute to the implementation of reforms, enhance the accountability of state institutions and advance Moldova’s progress towards EU membership.
