The catalog contains a list of cultivated plants officially approved for cultivation in soil and climatic conditions of Moldova – with high genetic potential and economic value.
The publication contains only plant varieties that have been officially tested under the supervision of authorized state structures and meet the established quality indicators. They are defined according to two main criteria: cultural and utilitarian value (VCU), and isolation, homogeneity and stability of characteristics during repeated use (DUS).
To make it easier for growers to choose a variety, the catalog categorizes them according to the geographical area of homologation. In particular, index I is assigned to varieties suitable for the northern zone, index II – for the central zone, index III – for the southern zone of the country. Index R – the possibility to successfully apply the variety on the entire territory of the Republic of Moldova.
