Among other things, last month exports of Moldovan sunflower oil amounted to 14.1 thousand tons. Most likely, this is already a commodity produced from the harvest-2025. At the same time, external supplies of sunflower seeds in October this year exceeded 120 thousand tons.
According to Yuri Rizha, an expert in agro-marketing, “it is not yet necessary to talk about a decisive recovery of the dynamics of external sales, because the volume of sunflower oil exports for the specified period of this year is still significantly lower than the corresponding figures for 2022 and 2023”. In these years, the external supplies of sunflower oil from Moldova were about one third higher during the mentioned period.
In addition, despite the fact that, after one year of downtime, the oil and fat enterprises of Moldova resumed production of sunflower oil, a significant imbalance between exports of finished products with high added value and raw materials still remains.
