The Forum gathered more than 140 participants: industry experts, representatives of government agencies, investors, developers of renewable energy projects and representatives of international organizations.
According to Energy Minister Dorin Jungietu, the first round of tenders for the installation of large renewable energy parks has been finalized. Eleven bids were selected: 6 for photovoltaic projects with a total capacity of 60 MW and 5 for wind projects with a capacity of 105 MW. The average guaranteed price resulting from the bidding process amounted to 1.16 lei/kWh – for solar energy and 1.29 lei/kWh – for wind energy. These auctions will bring direct investments of 200 million euros over the next three years.
In this sense, the role of the National Integrated Energy and Climate Plan, a strategic document for decarbonization and energy transition, was highlighted. Moldova aims to ensure that by 2030, 30% of the final energy consumption will come from renewable sources. And also to reduce greenhouse gas emissions by 68.5% compared to 1990 levels.
The objectives are supported by concrete measures: connection to the European continental grid, modernization of the legislative framework, including the adoption of a new Law on Electricity, and the launch of new tenders for electricity storage capacity.
