“I would like to initiate a dialogue with the Republic of Moldova regarding the organization of joint academic competitions, the study of the same subjects, and the deepest possible integration of our two education systems. And I am pleased that there is already openness to this idea in Chisinau. We have already discussed this, because I would not have publicly announced such initiatives without the consent of the authorities of the neighboring country,” Tomac said Monday evening on Antena 3 CNN.
The prime minister-designate also stated that he would like Romania and the Republic of Moldova to implement joint projects in several areas, including sports.
“And finally, I would very much like to win the Romania-Moldova Cup,” the politician said.
During the same program, Tomac revealed that he holds dual citizenship—Romanian and Moldovan. He stated that he renounced his Ukrainian citizenship when he obtained Moldovan citizenship because Ukraine does not recognize dual citizenship.
