
He made these remarks at a meeting of the European Economic and Social Committee (EESC) in Brussels.
Speaking at a discussion on EU enlargement, the foreign minister noted that the start of negotiations on two negotiation clusters reflects the results of the reforms Moldova has been implementing in preparation for EU accession.
According to Popșoi, European integration remains a key foreign policy priority for the country, and the implementation of reforms is aimed primarily at improving the quality of public services and bringing national standards in line with those of the EU.
“We will continue to implement reforms to bring the Republic of Moldova closer to the European family. These efforts are aimed first and foremost at improving the quality of life for our citizens,” the minister stated.
The minister also welcomed the EESC’s involvement in developing cooperation with civil society organizations in EU candidate countries.
The event was attended by representatives of European Union institutions, trade unions, employers’ associations, and civil society organizations from EU member states and candidate countries.
