ANRE approved new gas tariffs

UPDATE The National Energy Regulatory Agency (ANRE) has approved a new tariff for natural gas for household consumers. The new price will amount to 14.43 lei per cubic meter, which is 13.8% lower than the current tariff of 16.74 lei per m3, Logos Press reported.

The reduction will amount to 2.31 lei per cubic meter, which will directly affect the consumers’ bills.

Earlier, Energocom proposed a tariff adjustment of 15.25 lei per cubic meter. However, ANRE decided on a lower tariff level after assessing the cost price, procurement conditions and economic parameters included in the calculation.

The new tariff will enter into force after the publication of the decision in Monitorul oficial.

The Director of the National Energy Regulatory Agency (NERA), Constantin Borosan, stated that the reduction in gas prices should lead to a decrease in heating tariffs, as most suppliers purchase gas at a regulated price.

In this regard, ANRE sent a letter to all heat energy producers requesting that they submit applications for the adjustment of regulated prices by Thursday, 5 February.

New gas tariff comes into force

Monitorul official Nr. 68 of 04.02.2026 published the NERE Decision on reducing the gas tariff from 3 February.

Thus, starting from 4 February, a reduced gas tariff of 13,353 lei/1000 m³ (excluding VAT) or 14,420 lei/1000 m³ (including VAT) came into force.
