Due to the train stop in the tunnel on Tuesday, almost all trains traveling under the English Channel were canceled. In the company Getlink, discussing the tunnel, said that they expect the gradual resumption of traffic after the restoration of the network, and that there are no other trains blocked under the strait. But it backed Eurostar’s call to avoid traveling these days if possible.
During the winter holidays, the Eurostar network connecting many European capitals and resorts is one of the busiest in Europe. In 2024, the company carried 19.5 million passengers.
