The Customs Service (CS) notes that the electronic declaration can be completed via the public portal on the Trade.gov.md platform in the e-Customs section. The form will be accessible on a smartphone, tablet, or laptop both before the trip and directly at the border customs checkpoint.
After the form is completed and the data is submitted, the system will automatically generate a registration number, which must be presented to a customs officer during inspection.
The electronic version of the declaration will allow you to fill out the documents from anywhere, including at home, at the airport, or while traveling. Presenting the registration number instead of a paper form can significantly reduce waiting times at customs.
The system provides step-by-step instructions for filling out the declaration and includes mechanisms that reduce the risk of errors commonly found on paper forms. Therefore, the Customs Service urges citizens to use the electronic customs declaration form, the development of which is part of efforts to digitize the system and optimize passenger flow at border crossing points.
The new digital module launched by the Customs Service is expected to significantly reduce wait times at the border and simplify the process of declaring goods.
