The company’s Board of Directors made the decision, citing a loss of confidence on the part of the founder—the Public Property Agency (PPA).

Andrei Chebanu, who previously served as deputy director of the Civil Aviation Authority, has been appointed acting director.

The Public Property Agency also noted that the internal investigation initiated earlier is ongoing.

Vangeli was removed from his position following a journalistic investigation that cast doubt on the accuracy of information regarding his training at a Canadian aviation school and his employment as a pilot at Air Canada. The airline stated that it had no information regarding his employment.

Vangeli’s salary was 110,000 lei, not including various bonuses and additional payments.

In addition, the investigation revealed that while serving as interim director of MoldATSA in 2024, he hired an acquaintance, appointing her to the position of internal audit coordinator with a salary of approximately 85,000 lei, and subsequently promoted her to a managerial position.
