Developed by the European Commission’s Directorate-General for Research and Innovation, the EU Innovation Platform will serve as a central entry point for innovators seeking to bring their ideas closer to the market.

Developed as part of the EU Strategy for Startup Support and Scaling Up, which aims to optimize existing EU innovation support services and digital tools, the EU Innovation Platform also contributes to the broader goal of creating a more interconnected European innovation ecosystem. It aims to bring resources together in one place through a more streamlined and user-friendly approach.

A key feature of the EU Innovation Platform is an intelligent recommendation system based on EU innovation needs, sector, geographic location, and maturity level. It connects registered users with relevant available services, news, events, or funding competitions.

Currently, the EU Innovation Platform is focused on innovators funded by the EU and supported under European funding programs. In the coming months, the platform will open to innovators, business advisory firms, investors, corporations, and other stakeholders.

The new platform has already launched its first call for best practices in the area of access conditions for industrial users under the European Strategy for Research and Technology Infrastructure (RTIs) and the “Startups and Scaling” strategy. The goal is to identify best practices that can help strengthen Europe’s innovation potential, industrial competitiveness, and technology adoption.

The competition is open to organizations that host or operate research and technology infrastructure in the European Union or in countries participating in the EU’s Horizon Europe R&D Framework Program, including Armenia, Georgia, Moldova, and Ukraine.
