Moldovans with dual citizenship can benefit from the “Diaspora Investește Acasă” program, for which 100 million euros have been allocated

The Romanian Ministry of Finance will allocate 100 million euros for a program for Romanians living abroad who want to start a business in the country. The program is called "Diaspora Investește Acasă" ("Diaspora Investește Acasă"). The program provides loans up to 500,000 euros, with a grant component of up to 60% of the investment loan, but not more than 200,000 euros.

Romania allocates aid to the diaspora

The minimum amount of the investment loan is EUR 5,000 and the maximum amount is EUR 500,000. The maximum loan term is 10 years, with final repayment no later than December 31, 2037.

Romanians living abroad and participating in the program do not need to return to the country to receive the grants, profit.ro specified.

“The total budget of this measure is 100 million euros, which are allocated from the state budget through the budget of the Finance Ministry, based on an implementation agreement concluded with the Inter-American Development Bank. The grants are provided for the period 2026-2029, within the limits of the approved budget,” the Ministry of Finance said in a statement.
