As Logos press previously wrote, the innovation was undertaken in accordance with the entry into force of amendments to the Tax Code and the Law on Personal Data Protection. According to these amendments, individual independent entrepreneurs engaged in trade will be assigned a state identification number (IDNO).
Further, the STS and the State Services Agency (SSA) will ensure the transfer of information on individuals engaged in independent trade activities and registered with the tax authority before July 1 of this year, for the assignment of IDNO and registration in the State Register of Legal Entities.
The STS will then send the traders a confirmation of tax registration. Subsequently, independent entrepreneurs will be able to re-register cash register equipment on the basis of the assigned IDNO.
The STS emphasizes that these changes apply exclusively to individuals engaged in independent trading activities. They do not affect other categories of individuals engaged in independent entrepreneurial activities (including freelancers) who were initially assigned an identification taxpayer number (IDNO).
