The sides also discussed the prospect of opening a full-fledged Spanish embassy in Chisinau. They praised the Cervantes initiative, launched in September 2025, which contributes to strengthening ties between the two states.
Alexandru Munteanu and Jose Antonio Hernandez Perez-Solozarno also discussed cooperation in the fields of labor and social protection, justice and defense, including through projects of assistance to adjust the legislation to the European standards. In the field of labor and social protection, the Twinning project, worth about 1 million euros, is being implemented, which aims at adapting to EU standards the systems of labor inspection, health and safety at work, as well as combating undeclared labor.
The dialogue also touched upon the enhancement of economic cooperation, especially through partnerships in sectors such as renewable energy and infrastructure. In this context, the prime minister emphasized the opportunities offered by the investment conference The EU-Moldova investment conference, scheduled for June 4 in Chisinau.
It is worth mentioning that earlier, the launch of a direct Chisinau-Madrid flight was announced by the SkyUp company on April 16. At that time, tickets could be purchased at a price starting from 15 euros.
