The winner received 86.96 points from the judges and won the gold medal. China’s Eileen Gu, who scored 86.58 points, became the silver medalist. Canada’s Megan Oldham, who scored 76.46 points, completed the podium.
Gremo won the women’s Olympic slopestyle event for the first time at the 2022 Beijing Games in China.
The 26-year-old thus became the first woman in history to defend an Olympic title in one of the freestyle disciplines since the sport was first introduced into the main program of the Winter Olympics in Albertville (France) in 1992.
The XXV Winter Olympics are being held in Milan and Cortina d’Ampezzo in northern Italy from February 6-22. They are attended by about 2.9 thousand athletes from 93 countries. Moldova is represented by six athletes, one of whom is a reserve.
During 17 days, 116 sets of medals in eight sports (16 disciplines) will be played at the Olympics.
