As the chairman of the Association of Grain Producers and Exporters “Agrocereale” Iurie Rizha emphasized, “the reduction of tariffs was the result of a constructive dialogue between the assets of this organization with the heads of the State Enterprise “Railway of Moldova” and the Ministry of Infrastructure and Regional Development”.
The previous change of tariffs for railway transportation of grain and oilseeds in Moldova occurred in early November last year. At that time, tariffs increased by 7% on average.
The Association “Agrocereale” considered the increase in transportation logistics costs as a factor reducing the competitiveness of both agricultural producers and traders, as well as the Moldovan railway carrier.
Apparently, the reduction of tariffs at the end of last week was a compromise acceptable to all participants in the process.
