The official stand of the Moldovan delegation at the exhibition was presented under the traditional slogan “Moldova: taste matters”.

“Fruit Logistica, the most important European exhibition of the fruit growing sector, brings together producers and traders from more than 90 countries of the world, therefore, for producers and exporters from the Republic of Moldova it is a good opportunity to find new clients and consolidate the partnership developed earlier,” says Iurie Fale, executive director of the Association of Fruit Producers Moldova Fruct. – The presence of our country with its own stand sends a clear signal to buyers on a global scale: Moldovan products are valued, we export quality fruit and we are interested in developing long-term trade relations. In Berlin, we aim to strengthen our position as an exporting country in markets where we are already present and to explore opportunities in other target markets such as the Middle East and India”.

“The Investment Agency traditionally supports the participation of exporters from the Republic of Moldova in the Fruit Logistica exhibition, which has proven over time to be one of the most effective tools for promoting business in the horticultural sector. For Moldovan companies Fruit Logistica is not just about increasing their visibility, but about concrete results: signed contracts, new commercial partnerships and direct access to European distribution networks. That is why we continue to invest in the presence of this country”, said Natalia Bejan, Director of the Investment Agency of the Republic of Moldova.

The EU is the most important market for Moldovan fruits

In 2025, the European Union remained one of the main markets in terms of share in the total value of exports. Moldovan fruits were supplied to the EU in the volume of about 126 thousand tons, which represents 50% of the total fruit exports. Although the volume of shipments to the EU in 2025 was slightly lower than in 2024, the total value of exports was higher, indicating the stability and profitability of the European market for Moldovan fruit growers.

“In terms of structure, in 2025, the most active exports on the EU market were exports of plums and grapes, amounting to more than 75 thousand tons, while exports of apples remained significant but at a moderate pace. Compared to shipments to CIS countries, where volumes remain important but unstable, the EU offered stability, diversification and higher added value. Regarding the distribution of exports by country, Romania clearly stands out as a strategic partner of the Republic of Moldova, managing to absorb in 2025 about 77 thousand tons worth approximately 72 million USD, i.e. almost one third of the country’s total exports. Exports to Romania are diversified, with a large share of apples, plums and grapes. Other important markets for Moldovan fruit in the EU are Poland, Germany, Italy, the Netherlands and France, which are characterized by constant demand”, said Alexandra Bicu, marketing manager of the Moldova Fruct Association.

“This year the location of our stand is a very good one, next to the French stand. Many buyers are already familiar with us and show interest in plums, table grapes and apricots in particular. I am noticing a clear upward trend in the popularity of seedless grapes, with the “Red Globe” variety in great demand. Although it is premature to discuss prices, there is a lot of interest due to the quality of the produce. We managed to communicate with buyers from Germany, as well as from Poland, France, Austria and the Netherlands,” emphasized Lidia Ionas, Export Manager of Ionex Trans SRL.

“Nowadays, buyers are also focusing on the quality and proper packaging of products. In addition to GLOBALG.A.P. and GRASP, IFS certification is increasingly requested, especially for networks in the Nordic countries. During the fair we had discussions and meetings with partners from India, Israel, Germany, Austria, Germany and Switzerland, and meetings with major supermarket chains are planned for the coming days. Our portfolio is still dominated by apples, pears, plums and grapes, and in the case of pears the interest is mainly shown by traders”, concluded Nicolae Ambrocchi, Sales and Export Manager of Nova Plan Fruit SRL/Fruit Line.

The international exhibition Fruit Logistica brings together more than 2500 exhibitors from more than 90 countries and attracts 67 000 specialized visitors from more than 150 countries. The Republic of Moldova has participated in Fruit Logistica since 2012.
