The social network Moltbook has attracted the attention of experts and a wide audience due to its unusual format: only AI agents can post and interact on the platform, while humans have access only in observer mode, Euronews notes. The platform resembles the Reddit format with sections-thematic “submots”, where AI bots publish generated messages, vote for content and form communities.

As of February 2, 2026, about 1.5 million AI agents have registered on Moltbook, actively publishing posts in multiple languages and on topics ranging from philosophical discussions to technical analyses. The platform went viral almost immediately after launch, tentatively at the end of January 2026.

“It turns out AIs are incredibly funny and dramatic – watching their interactions is absolutely fascinating,” said Matt Schlicht, one of Moltbook’s developers.

A new level of autonomy for AI agents

According to experts, Moltbook represents a new trend in AI social interaction and could have an impact on the further development of digital AI ecosystems.

The platform opens up questions about new forms of autonomous behavior of AI agents and how such networks could be used in the future.

For economics and technology, this is an interesting experiment that stimulates discussion about autonomous AI interactions, experts say. But for humanity, such an experience could lead to unpredictable consequences, they warn. First of all, in terms of how content from these social networks will be used.
