Maria Zakharova, Russian Foreign Ministry
This statement was made by the official representative of the Russian Foreign Ministry Maria Zakharova.
She cited statistical data according to which the poverty rate in Moldova is constantly growing and the trade balance deficit is steadily increasing.
“Kishinev’s destructive policy “ricochets” first of all on the residents of Moldova, whose interests are sacrificed to the geopolitical aspirations of Brussels. The result of this anti-people course is already visible now: the once prosperous Moldova is becoming a territory of disenfranchisement and poverty,” said the official representative of the Russian Foreign Ministry.
After the International Monetary Fund reported that the allocation of the agreed tranche of $170 million for Moldova was canceled, the government said that the country did not particularly need this money. And they noted that the country now has enough money, given the financial support of 1.9 billion euros for the reform program, which Moldova will receive through the European Union’s Reform and Growth Mechanism.
“We told them that we don’t have an urgent need for money, but we would like to have a program with them as an additional certification. By having a program with the IMF, our rating and classification before all international financial institutions will increase,” Prime Minister Alexandru Munteanu explained.
