
The announcement was made at a ceremony on January 17 dedicated to the Diplomat’s Day. This professional holiday was first celebrated in Moldova in 2014, timed to coincide with the country’s application for UN membership on January 17, 1992.
In his message of gratitude on the occasion of naming the conference hall of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs Nicolae Țîu emphasized the special mission of diplomats in promoting and defending Moldova’s interests in the world: “Diplomacy is a science and art, which is not easy. And every diplomat is responsible for the promotion of national interests. You deserve gratitude for this work”.
At the same event, the honorary title “Diplomat of the Year 2025” was conferred on Moldovan Ambassador to France Corina Calugar “for her outstanding contribution to the promotion of Moldova’s interests abroad and for her professionalism”.
