Moreover, the decrease in withdrawal from underground storage facilities is taking place despite the decline in Ukraine’s own production, specifies “Ekonomicheskaya Pravda”. The reason for the decrease in gas withdrawal from underground storage facilities is not the increased import supplies, but a drop in the consumption of “blue fuel” by thermal power plants across the country due to the destruction of generating equipment.
This was reported to Interfax-Ukraine by former Energy Minister Olha Buslavets.
“Ekonomicheskaya Pravda” with reference to the data of “Operator of GTS of Ukraine” (OGTSU) reports that in recent days net gas imports to Ukraine (taking into account re-exports by non-residents in short-haul mode up to 3 million cubic meters per day) fluctuated in the range of 21-22 million cubic meters per day. Imports come from Hungary, Poland, Slovakia, and small volumes from Moldova/Romania.
In turn, according to the European platform Aggregated Gas Storage Inventory (AGSI), as of the end of the week, the level of natural gas reserves in Ukraine’s UGS facilities is 11.6 bcm (including 4.7 bcm of technological “buffer gas”), which is 30% or 2.7 bcm higher than last year.
