
Elena Grumeza
Her appointment was approved at the January 14, 2026, cabinet meeting.
In this position, Elena Grumeza will coordinate the processes of digital transformation of the Finance Ministry and its subordinate institutions. As noted in the information of the ministry, the new state secretary was educated in law and economics. She has “solid experience in consulting, auditing and the financial and banking sector”.
In recent years, Elena Grumeza has served as an advisor in the Prime Minister’s Office, where she coordinated and controlled priority national projects. Previously, the specialist worked at the National Bank of Moldova and the World Bank Group’s office in Moldova, participating in initiatives aimed at increasing transparency in finance and developing digital solutions.
This is the third new appointment within the Ministry of Finance. In the first reshuffle, former Deputy Director of the Customs Service Lidia Ababii was transferred to the ministry from the Customs Service. She became deputy secretary general of the Ministry of Finance. Ana Luka, who previously held this position, was appointed vice-director of the Customs Service.
