Recently, Danish Prime Minister Mette Frederiksen said that the U.S. “has no right to annex any of the three territories of the Danish kingdom,” and warned that such action would mark the end of the NATO military alliance. NATO.

U.S. and Danish representatives will meet this week to discuss the situation. Washington has previously said that they have several options for annexing the island, including buying it from Denmark or joint management. But the use of military force is not ruled out.
