
This is the first specimen in a new series of commemorative and jubilee coins called “European Moldova”. The coin marks an important moment in the economic life of the Republic – the accession to the SEPA infrastructure. This process took place in three stages: On January 30, 2024, the official application for membership was submitted, and on March 6, 2025, Moldova’s admission to SEPA took place. Operational integration, which allowed connecting the national payment system to the European infrastructure, was carried out on October 6, 2025.
The jubilee coin is minted in silver. Its nominal value is 100 lei and its circulation is 2500 copies. The author of the graphic design was Eugen Boico, professor at the State University of Moldova and creator of the Tree of Life, the country’s tourist brand.
The coin is packed in a transparent capsule and a presentation box, it is accompanied by a certificate of authenticity signed by the Governor of the National Bank of Moldova. The certificate contains a QR code that allows direct access to the information on the characteristics of the coin, available at the official website of the National Bank of Moldova.
The jubilee coins are sold to citizens by the National Bank of Moldova on the basis of applications submitted online in the “Coin” section of the institution’s website. As well as through the licensed banks of Moldova. They have the right to set independently the selling price of jubilee and commemorative coins, which cannot exceed by more than 3% the level set by the National Bank of Moldova.
