Compared to the data for 2023, the growth of Moldovan sunflower exports amounted to 92%, compared to the level of 2022 – more than 125%.
As agro-marketing expert Iurie Rija notes, it is particularly interesting that “for almost the second year in a row, Moldova has maintained its position as the undisputed leader in sunflower exports to the European Union, surpassing countries with incomparably greater agricultural potential, such as Argentina and China, more than seven times in this market segment.
The average export price of Moldovan sunflower in the period from August to November 2025 amounted to 11.08 lei/kg, 8% more than in the same period of 2024, when the average price was 10.21 lei/kg. Compared to the 2023 season, when the price was at its lowest level of only 7.59 lei/kg, the current price level is 46% higher.
Thus, the 2025-2026 season brought farmers both a good harvest of oilseeds and high prices for these products.
