Vitali Spynu won the main award of the Belgrade Grand Prix in the men’s open category for the third year in a row. Anastasija Spynu achieved the same success in the women’s competition.

Daniel Mutelica won the under-21 competition. For him, the medal was his debut medal at a representative international tournament.

All athletes who represented Moldova at the Grand Prix of Belgrade are pupils of the karate-shotokan school in Balti.

Earlier this year, Logos Press reported that the Spinu couple won seven medals, including one gold medal, at the World Karate Shotokan Championships in Będzin (Poland). At that time, Vital Spynu became 13-time world champion. They also became European champions at the competition held in Lignano-Sabbiadoro (Italy).
