A number of entrepreneurs have sent a declaration to the country’s leadership, calling for urgent action against abuses committed by a group of insolvency administrators in several Moldovan enterprises. The entrepreneurs believe that such practices jeopardize Moldova’s economic stability and the process of its integration into the EU.
According to the investors, complaints about such actions remain unresolved, the processes last for years and the perpetrators are not brought to justice. In a joint statement, they warned that today more than a dozen profitable enterprises are on the verge of liquidation, which seriously affects economic flows and budget revenues.
According to entrepreneurs, some managers use insolvency procedures to impose unreasonable restrictions. “For a fictitious penalty of about 300 thousand lei, an economically strong enterprise, employing more than 50 people, with millions of dollars in turnover and paying taxes to the budget, is put into insolvency proceedings and declared insolvent,” said Victor Yavtuhovsky, Auto International SRL company. – We were not notified about it even through the court, they did not explain clearly on what grounds such a decision was made. Everything happens in our absence, a decision is quickly made, an administrator is appointed, and we have been fighting for several years. We are blocked millions of capital assets and funds amounting to about 15 million lei, as well as customs operations. All this prevents the quiet operation of the enterprise. Nobody explains to us the legal background of these measures, they just call us and inform us”.
The press conference on November 25 was attended by several Moldovan entrepreneurs, as well as citizens who also suffered from similar proceedings during the construction of housing. The investors emphasize that many of them have businesses in European countries, where such actions and decisions are unthinkable.
