After a 0-0 draw with Milsami, Spartanii-Sportul remained in last place in the standings and will thus leave the Super League at the end of the first phase. In order to return to the elite division, Adrian Sosnowski’s wards will have to play in a transitional tournament in spring 2026 with the top four clubs in Ligue 2 and the two worst clubs in the Super League.
The second elimination round is played in absentia between Dacia-Buiucani and Politehnica-UTM. “Dacia” let their opponents get within two points after losing to “Petrocub” with the score 1:3 (see the standings), while “Technicians” defeated CSF Bălți with the same score. The situation will be resolved in the final, 21st round of the first phase, in which “Dacia-Buiucani” will host “Sheriff”, and “Politehnica-UTM” will have to play away with “Zimbru”. To maintain their place in the Super League, both teams need to win, and “Politehnica-UTM” should also count on the defeat of their rival.
The victory over Dacia-Buiucani allowed Petrocub to become the “winter champion” of Moldova. The club from Hincesti will stay in this status until spring 2026, when the second phase will take place. Petrocub head coach Shota Makharadze said that it is too early to celebrate success. “We have to keep it simple and be grateful for what is happening around our team. Probably, the strength of our team is that we have everything very simple – it will continue to be so,” – emphasized the specialist.
The worst series in the championship for many years is given by Sheriff, which suffered its fourth consecutive defeat in the match against Zimbru. The match in Tiraspol ended with the score 0:1, which allowed the capital club to win the third victory over the principal rival in three matches. The total score of the confrontation this season is 6:2 in favor of Zimbru.
Bison coach Oleg Cubarev admitted that the match was tense, but the players played above all praise. “Not often there are matches in which you can play great defense, score a goal and have the prerequisites to score more… The team remained focused until the last round and played for the result in this match. I will single out the game of defense, which this season unloads the offensive line, especially important when playing on such heavy fields as in Balti,” said the coach.
The representative of Sheriff’s coaching staff was a little wordy. “Unfortunately, the opponent took advantage of the moment and scored, we, being in a more favorable position, did not take advantage of it. Both one and the other team realized that the loss of points in this match is fatal. Therefore, we tried to play more cautiously in defense. Definitely, it is necessary to strengthen some positions in the team”, – said the assistant head coach of “Sheriff” Andrei Corneencov.
The scorer’s race continues to be headed by the Belarusian legionary “Zimbru” Denis Cozlovschi, who scored more than a quarter of all the goals of the team in the season (14 out of 48). The second place is occupied by Petrocub forward Petru Popescu, who scored 10 times. The top three is rounded off by Milsami player Andrei Cobec, who has nine goals.
Until the end of the first phase, the teams have one match left to play. The final, 21st round of the autumn part of the Super League will be held on November 30. All points earned by the first six clubs in the second phase will be divided into two. At the same time, the points earned in matches against the two eliminated clubs will not be taken into account.
