Carayon’s best result was in the high jump discipline, reaching a mark of 1.67 meters. Italian Gianmarco Savi achieved the same result, but took the second place on additional indicators. Nazar Portyanko (Ukraine) won the bronze medal with a jump of 1.5m.
Karayon became the youngest European champion in the absolute age category. He also competed in the Speed Slalom discipline, where he took sixth place with a result of 4.343 sec. His national team partner Traian Beregoi took the tenth place among 11 participants in the same discipline. Moldova was also represented by Daria Carayon, who finished in tenth position in the disciplines “High Jump” and “Speed Slalom” among girls.
In the team medal standings, the Moldovan national team, with one gold medal, moved up to the fourth place among the 12 participating countries. The teams of Italy (eight gold, six silver, three bronze medals), Spain (two gold, one silver, four bronze medals) and Ukraine (one gold, one silver and two bronze medals) topped the ranking.
Inline Freestyle is a young type of roller sport, which is figure skating on roller skates on a cone-shaped track. It includes such disciplines as “classic slalom”, “pair slalom”, “Battle” (“group slalom” with three or four participants in each team), “free jump over the bar / slide”.
The European Roller Skating Championships for adults and juniors were held in Anagni (Italy).
