Preferential loans to farmers are “flying around”

According to the Ministry of Finance, since the beginning of the FCA, 154 enterprises from the agricultural sector have benefited from preferential lending. The total amount of financing at the end of September amounted to 157.6 million lei, of which 31.41 million lei was disbursed in September 2025.

FCA offers farmers access to loans with a fixed interest rate of 5.1% per annum, grants of up to 30% of the financing amount and repayment terms of up to 5 years. There is also an option to obtain financial guarantees through the ODA fund.

The grant component takes up to 30% of the total amount of funds allocated. The program of soft loans for micro and small agricultural enterprises has been in effect since March 1 and is designed for 5 years. Farmers can take advantage of it, including for replenishment of working capital.

The specific budget of the program for 2025 has not been determined. In order to clarify the conditions, it is necessary to contact the Organization for Development of Entrepreneurship (ODA) or check official sources of the Ministry of Agriculture, as the presented results do not contain detailed information.

When the program was launched, the following areas of investment were envisaged:

– Agricultural equipment: up to MDL 2 million, with a grant of up to 5% for the traditional sector.

– Conservation farming equipment: up to 2-3 million lei (for individual farmers/groups of producers), with a grant of 15%.

– Equipment for post-harvest processing: up to 5 million lei, with a grant of up to 30%.

– Working capital: up to 15% of the loan amount for operating expenses.
