ANUGA confirms demand for Moldovan fruits

“For Moldovan food producers ANUGA is a very good chance to establish contacts with potential partners,” says Iurie Fale, executive director of Moldova Fruct Association. -Thanks to the tastings organized at our stand, the visitors of the exhibition, among whom there are many food industry professionals, can get a qualified idea of the quality of Moldovan products, as well as find responsible suppliers. We expect that participation in ANUGA – this world showcase of the food industry – will strengthen Moldova’s image as a producer of natural, tasty and quality products”.

One of the main products of the national stand of the Republic of Moldova is dried plums, so-called “prunes”. In 2024, Moldova ranked 8th in the world in terms of export of this product. It was supplied to Romania, Ukraine, Bulgaria, Italy and Morocco. The progressive dynamics of exports of fresh and processed prunes this year shows that Moldovan prunes are being recognized for their quality and are strengthening their position in the markets with the highest requirements, especially in the European Union countries.

“We presented dried fruits – prunes, as well as dried pear, apple and their mixtures. The plum is the queen of our stand and Bulgaria, Serbia, Macedonia and the USA are showing great interest in it. We have already signed contracts for the supply of prunes with foreign partners,” said Dorin Cibotaru, founder of Nisvinex SRL.

“This is the first time we are exhibiting at ANUGA and presenting processed nuts and prunes. Visitors from Norway, Spain, Sweden, Germany, Albania, Serbia and Romania have received our products very well. This gives us the opportunity to translate the contacts we received into concrete cooperation, despite the strong competition from Chile and China,” said Ion Bivol, director of Bivcom Prim SRL.

“At the Monicol stand we are presenting dried tomatoes, candied fruits, walnut oil, plum paste and plum brandy. Visitors appreciate the taste and quality of our products, especially plums and walnuts. This exhibition is a springboard to the European and US markets,” said Nicolae Jigau, Sales Manager of Monicol SRL.

Moldova Fruct Association organizes the participation of Moldovan companies in the ANUGA exhibition for the fourth time. This year, the exhibition brings together more than 8000 companies from 110 countries. More than 140,000 visitors and industry professionals are expected to visit the exhibition over the five days.
