The plant in Târgu Nâmc will be built using its own funds, but the group is also considering European financing.

The new production facility will be established on the basis of the former textile factory in Târgu-Niamc, which was acquired by Dulcinella in 2024 for 750 thousand euros.

“We have invested a lot of energy and resources in this project, and I am confident that the company will fulfill its objectives on time and in optimal conditions. We see this investment not just as an expansion, but as a change of production level – we want to produce more, but with the same high standards we have set for ourselves from the beginning,” says Sergiu Diaconu, CEO of Dulcinella Group.

The investment will be realized in two phases. The first tranche of €2 million has already been allocated by the shareholders. The building has already been constructed and work is underway on the external fencing and the laying of utilities.

It should be noted that the Dulcinella group of companies exports its products to Spain, Great Britain, Bulgaria and the Czech Republic. The new plant will help the company to enter new markets with high sales volumes and logistics requirements. Until now, Dulcinella’s strategy has been to focus on the HoReCa segment and its own points of sale.

“The new plant will allow us to enter the market on a mass scale with portioned frozen products packaged under controlled temperature conditions. This will extend its shelf life. This technology is developing in Romania and the EU, and we will meet these standards, given that we are increasingly focused on exports to Central and Western Europe, and we are also planning to enter the US market,” Sergiu Diaconu added.

The project includes the installation of photovoltaic panels that will cover up to 60% of the electricity needs.

The production team will increase from about 45 employees at present to more than 150-200 as the new lines come on line.

Dulcinella is a Moldovan confectionery and pastry brand that entered the Romanian market in 2021 and has been part of the portfolio of the Cornelius H Group LTD investment fund in London since 2023.

The plant, already in operation, produces about 1.2 tons of products per day. The new plant will increase the capacity 20 times, bringing it to 20 tons of finished products per day. In the second phase of investment, scheduled for 2026, the production capacity will be up to 600 tons of finished products per month.
