On these Days the architecture “sounds”

One of the main events is the International Conference “Outstanding Universal Value of the Precucuteni-Ariusd-Cucuteni-Tripolje Cultural Complex”, which takes place on September 18-19 at the National Museum of History of Moldova. It is attended by experts from Moldova, Romania and Ukraine. Their main objective is to emphasize the significance of one of the largest archaeological complexes in South-Eastern Europe and its potential for inclusion in the UNESCO World Heritage List.

On September 20, the National Museum of History will host the International Forum “Heritage and Architecture: Windows to the Past, Doors to the Future”. It will be a platform for international dialog on historic monuments and new architectural solutions in historic zones.

This year’s events are dedicated to the 50th anniversary of the European Year of Architectural Heritage 1975, an initiative of the Council of Europe, which was a turning point in recognizing architectural heritage as a major factor in the quality of life and development of society.

Under this theme, the European Heritage Days emphasize the diversity of architectural styles, eras and materials that define Europe, from grand urban monuments to rustic buildings. At the same time, special attention is paid to the craftsmanship and intangible heritage involved in their construction, from building techniques to artistic symbolism.

Across Europe, millions of citizens are invited to discover and appreciate architecture as a symbol of history, cultural identity and collective memory, as well as a source of inspiration for preserving and transmitting heritage to future generations.
