
The statement was made at a meeting of the Road Fund Council, organized by Prime Minister Dorin Recean, at which a report on the use of the funds allocated for the national public roads in the first half of the year was presented, as well as the redistribution of the funds was examined.
The prime minister stressed that Moldova’s road infrastructure is constantly modernized. He voiced hope that the authorities will further boost the capacity to build quality roads, as well as to attract as many local companies capable of doing so. “The pre-financing within the framework of the continuation of the European path will give us the opportunity to speed up the construction of infrastructure,” Dorin Recean said.
According to the report presented by the National Road Administration, almost 2.7 billion lei has been allocated to perform maintenance and repair works on national public roads in 2025. The volume of disbursed funds for all works in the first half of 2025 exceeded 1 billion lei, which is about 37% of the total amount. The works were carried out by 12 specialized subdivisions of Drumuri state enterprises.
Among the implemented measures were: maintenance of national public roads in summer and winter periods, arrangement of passenger stops, traffic circles, intersections and crosswalks.
At the meeting of the Council the draft amendments to the Program of distribution of the Road Fund resources for national public roads for 2025 were agreed. Resources would be reallocated taking into account available funding, savings made and prioritization of expenditure.
In particular, the amount allocated for the maintenance works of the national public roads will be increased to 2.13 billion lei. The members of the council emphasized the importance of holding timely tenders to ensure the completion of all the planned works in due time.
At present, the road administration is in charge of 5993.24 km of national roads, including: 631 km of expressways, 2011.6 km of republican roads and 3,350.6 km of regional roads.
