In the final, Livadari defeated the representative of the USA Aaron Ortiz, who as a result lost the status of the reigning World Games champion. Before reaching the final, the 23-year-old Moldovan fighter defeated Vito Kosar from Croatia and China’s Zhang Chengchen.

Artem Livadari is the IFMA World Champion (2024) and the winner of the European Games (2023) in the weight category up to 81 kg. The representative of Moldova was forced to participate in a heavier category, as it is not represented at the World Games. This fact testifies to the high level of preparation of the fighter, a native of Feureşti village near Chisinau.

Thai boxing, also known as Muay Thai, is a type of martial arts, which uses elements of kickboxing and some ancient Asian martial arts. Unlike classical boxing, in Thai boxing it is allowed to use not only hands, but also legs, elbows and knees.

Earlier Logos Press reported that Alexei Gluhov and Anastasia Glazunova, representing Moldova, became the winners of the World Games in sports dancing (category “Standard”). Our country is represented by four athletes at the tournament in China – the Moldovan delegation is completed by kickboxer Stanislav Renita.

Two gold medals allowed the national team of Moldova to rise to the 24th place (as of the middle of the day on August 12) in the team medal standings among 115 participating countries. The table is headed by China (20 medals – 14 gold), followed by Germany (30 medals – 13 gold) and Italy (36 medals – eight gold).

The World Games in China will last until August 17. More than 4 thousand athletes from 115 countries are participating in the competitions. The World Games include competitions in 34 sports not included in the Olympic Games program.
